CURFEW:
| The laws state that it is
unlawful for any person under 17 years of age to be
present at or upon any public assembly, building, place,
vehicle, street or highway within the state unless
accompanied and supervised by a parent, legal guardian
or responsible person at least 18 years of age with the
written approval of the parents. A police officer may
require immediate verification of such a statement to
determine the authenticity of the document.

HOURS OF CURFEW:
- Between 12:01 am to 6:00 am Saturday
- Between 12:01 am to 6:00 am Sunday
- Between 11:00 PM on Sunday to Thursday, inclusive and 6:00 am on the following day.

EXCEPTION TO THESE HOURS:

When the person is engaged in the performance of a business or occupation which
the laws of the state authorize a person less than
17 years of age to perform.
The responsibility of proving parental approval or lawful
occupation is upon the person in question and is subject to being
verified by the police.

DRIVER’S LICENSE & CURFEW:
|
Any person who operates a motor vehicle while in violation of
the Curfew laws also commits the offense of operating a motor
vehicle WITHOUT A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE. While the offense of
curfew is a violation of both State law and Village
ordinance, driving without a valid license violates
State law which affects your driving record. Both
violations require a court appearance with one of
the person's parents being present in
court. |
